What's a fair price for a tattoo design?
TattooBuild and a custom drawing from your artist aren't the same thing, and you'll probably want both. TattooBuild gets you to a clear idea fast and cheaply. Your artist turns that idea into something that works on your body, and their drawing time is worth paying for. How much do tattoo designs cost?
Pricing questions
What counts as a design?
Each image the studio draws for you counts as one design: a new design, each variation in a run, a refine, a redrawn area, a stencil or transparent version, and a skin try-on. Downloading, saving, sharing, and making a design public or private never use one.
Does Detail mode use more designs?
No. One image is one design, in Fast or Detail.
Do unused designs roll over?
Starter, Pro and Studio include a fresh design allowance every month, whether you pay monthly or yearly. Unused subscription designs don't carry over. Existing subscribers keep their original allowance and reset schedule. Purchased design credits never expire while your account is open.
What happens to my designs if I cancel?
They stay in your gallery, and you can still view and download them. You can keep generating with purchased design credits, or subscribe again.
How do I cancel?
Go to Account → Billing → Manage billing. That opens Stripe's billing portal, where you can cancel in a couple of clicks. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are non-refundable once designs have been made, because each design is created for you on the spot. We will refund you if a fault on our side meant you couldn't get your designs, or if you were charged in error, for example twice or the wrong amount. Email support@tattoobuild.com.
What if a design fails to generate?
If the studio can't deliver an image because of an error on our side, it isn't counted against your allowance.
Can I switch plans?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade any time from Manage billing. Monthly upgrades start straight away; Stripe shows any prorated charge before you confirm. Downgrades and switches from yearly to monthly start at your next billing date. Switching from monthly to yearly starts a new yearly billing period. Purchased credits are kept, and switching within the same billing period does not reset designs already used.
Do the yearly plans renew automatically?
Yes, once a year on the date you subscribed. Your renewal date is always shown in Account → Billing, and you can cancel there any time before it so it won't renew.
Is my payment secure?
Payments are handled by Stripe. TattooBuild never sees or stores your full card number.
What currency are prices in, and is tax included?
Prices are in US dollars (USD). Any sales tax that applies is shown at checkout before you pay.
I had a plan on the old TattooBuild app. What happens to it?
Existing subscriptions keep their current price, design allowance and billing date. Your plan carries over automatically. Sign in with the email address you used before; we'll send you a one-tap sign-in link. If anything looks wrong, email support@tattoobuild.com.
