Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Tattoo Build ("TattooBuild", "we", "us") for your use of tattoobuild.com and the TattooBuild design studio. By using TattooBuild you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

TattooBuild lets you describe a tattoo idea and get AI-generated designs: design sheets, stencil line art, transparent images and mockups on a photo of your skin. You can save designs to your gallery, keep them private or share them publicly in our Explore gallery. We also publish tattoo ideas and guides.

Designs are artistic starting points. They are not a promise that a tattoo artist can or will tattoo them as shown, and a skin mockup is a simulation, not a preview of a healed tattoo. Nothing on TattooBuild is medical advice.

You must be 18 or older and able to agree to these terms. You're responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in details safe. Tell us at support@tattoobuild.com if you think someone else has used your account.

• Visitors can make a small number of free designs. Paid plans give a set number of designs per month or per year, as shown on our pricing page.
• Prices are in US dollars. Any sales tax that applies is shown at checkout before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel.
• What counts as a design: each image the studio draws for you, including each variation, refine, redrawn area, stencil or transparent version, and skin mockup. Downloading, saving, sharing and changing a design's visibility don't count. Images that fail or are refused because of an error or content filter on our side don't count.
• Monthly allowances reset at the start of each billing period and unused designs don't carry over. Yearly plans give the whole year's designs from the start of the year. Design packs are one-time purchases with no automatic renewal. Purchased credits never expire while your account is open and remain available after plan changes or cancellation. Subscription designs are used before purchased credits. Each delivered image uses one credit; failed generations do not use a credit.
• You can switch plans at any time from Account → Billing. Monthly upgrades start straight away, with any prorated charge shown before confirmation. Downgrades and yearly-to-monthly switches start at your next billing date. Monthly-to-yearly switches start a new yearly billing period. Purchased credits are kept.
• If we change a plan's price, we'll tell existing subscribers at least 30 days before it applies to them, and the new price applies from their next renewal after that.

• You can cancel any time from Account → Billing → Manage billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and it won't renew.
• Because each design is created for you on demand, payments are non-refundable once you've started using a billing period, except where the law requires otherwise.
• We will refund you if a fault on our side meant you couldn't get the designs you paid for, or if you were charged in error (for example twice, or the wrong amount). Email support@tattoobuild.com within 30 days of the charge.
• After you cancel, your existing designs stay in your gallery and you can still view and download them.

• You keep the rights you have in the ideas, text and images you give us, and in the designs the studio makes for you, to the extent the law gives anyone rights in them. You may use your designs for any lawful purpose, including having them tattooed and using them in paid tattoo work.
• The law on AI-generated images is still developing. In some countries, images made entirely by AI may not be protected by copyright, and similar prompts can produce similar results. We can't promise that a design is unique or that you can stop others making something similar.
• You give us permission to store and process your content to run the service. For designs you submit to Explore, you also give us permission to publish them there and on TattooBuild's own pages and social channels; whether and when we publish a submission is up to us. You can withdraw this for any design by making it private or deleting it.
• You promise that you have the right to use anything you upload, and permission from anyone shown in a photo you upload.

Don't use TattooBuild to create, upload or share content that is illegal, sexual content involving minors, sexually explicit, hateful, harassing or violent, that infringes someone else's rights (including copying another artist's work), or that shows a real person without their permission. Don't try to get around our content filters or limits, scrape the site, or access it with automated tools. We use automated filters, including our image model provider's, and some requests will be refused.

We may remove content or hide public designs that break these terms or that people report to us (see Report content). We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. You can close your account at any time from Account → Settings.

We work hard to keep TattooBuild running, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or improve features over time.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any tattoo done from a TattooBuild design, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live elsewhere, you also keep any protections the consumer laws of your home country give you.

We'll post changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect.
